here is how we helped anne and her family

SECURITY

We installed a Ring Video Doorbell (and Ring internal Chime) coupled with an 8" HD smart screen, located beside Anne's chair in her living room.

Now, when she has a visitor, the following happens:

- The internal chime chimes

- The screen beside her shows her visitor - in daylight or darkness. If she wants to talk to them she only has to touch the screen.

- Her daughter and son also receive an alert that there is a visitor at their Mums door and can see and talk to her visitor if desired.

In fact, her daughter and son are alerted to motion detected in their Mum's front driveway before the doorbell is pushed and can engage remotely if suspicious activity is suspected.

COMMUNICATION

The smart screen in Anne's living room has been setup to provide both emergency and social communication.

If Anne needs assistance, she simply says "Help!" downstairs to immediately alert and call her family.

Outside of an emergency, she can also call her family and friends with a simple voice command like "Call John", ensuring easy and reliable communication.

Her son and daughter can remotely 'Drop In' for a video chat by simply saying "Call Dad". They can also remotely adjust the volume.

Advanced sensors monitor for a variety of sounds like glass breaking and coughing and will send an alert to the family to check in with Anne.

Peace Of Mind Updates: We worked with Anne's family to provide both standard and bespoke alerts triggered by activity or inactivity in the living room, like "Mum Is Up and About!" - to know she has started her day, or "Haven't Seen Mum Downstairs Yet!" - to get a nudge to check in with her.

We also trained Anne's family in how to set up spoken Medication Reminders and Appointment Reminders.

FALL RISK REDUCTION

Smart lighting was installed to provide a lit pathway to / from the bathroom from Anne's bedroom. Motion sensors were discreetly placed in the bedroom, hallway and bathroom to control smart bulbs in existing lighting fixtures. A remote button was also affixed to her nightstand beside her bed. Now a visit to the bathroom at night is made safe by either pushing the remote button, or triggering the motion detector in the bedroom to light the pathway. When back in bed, the lights will automatically switch off or she can push the remote to switch them off herself.
