Monthly network report, September 2026
A good month. Your home network did its job, and the two short internet drops were on your provider’s side, not in your house.
One square per day for everything we watch. Green means nothing happened that day.
Our box checks the internet and your router every minute. If the router answers and the internet does not, the fault is with your provider.
| When | How long | Where the fault was | Alert |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wed 9 Sep, 02:14 to 02:28 | 14 minutes | Router up provider’s side | Texted |
| Wed 23 Sep, 19:05 to 19:11 | 6 minutes | Router up provider’s side | Texted |
Two short drops in a month is within what most providers would call normal, so we do not suggest a complaint. If they become more frequent, your evidence pack is already building: every drop is timed, with proof your router was up, ready to send to your provider.
Our box sits on the second floor, the floor that needed the most help. Every hour it tests the link from your router through the interfloor portal, in both directions.
| This month | At your trial | |
|---|---|---|
| Download to the second floor, typical | 206 Mbps | 212 Mbps |
| Download, typical evening | 184 Mbps | 182 Mbps |
| Upload from the second floor, typical | 188 Mbps | 192 Mbps |
| Lowest single test | 68 Mbps | 180 Mbps |
From 19:00 to 23:00 on Mon 14 Sep, the second floor dropped to between 68 and 99 Mbps, and the first floor access point lost its link three times for a minute or two. Both floors share your electrical wiring, and everything was back to normal by the next morning. That pattern usually means something new was plugged in nearby for the evening, such as a heater or a phone charger. It did nothing worse than slow things down, and a 4K stream needs only 25 Mbps.
If you remember plugging something in that evening, let us know and we will tell you whether it is worth moving. If it happens again we will be in touch first.
On the ground and first floors we check every minute that each access point is online and connected. Only the second floor has the hourly speed test.
| Floor | Online | Drops |
|---|---|---|
| Ground floor access point, at the router | 100% | 0 |
| First floor access point | 99.99% | 3 |
| Second floor access point | 100% | 0 |
| Drop | When | How long |
|---|---|---|
| First floor access point | Mon 14 Sep, 19:41 | 1 min |
| First floor access point | Mon 14 Sep, 20:02 | 2 min |
| First floor access point | Mon 14 Sep, 20:37 | 1 min |
Drops of under two minutes are recorded but not texted, so you are not woken by something that has already fixed itself.
We check every minute that each camera is online. If one is gone for ten minutes, we text you.
| Camera | Online | Offline |
|---|---|---|
| Front door camera | 99.89% | Tue 22 Sep, 10:12 to 10:59, 47 minutes. Back after you restarted it. |
| Back garden camera | 100% | Not once |
Whenever something joins your Wi-Fi for the first time, we text you so you can tell us if you do not recognise it.
