Next Generation Technology

SmartGuardian harnesses two state-of-the-art AI-powered technology platforms: the latest in radar sensing for behaviour and fall detection, and an advanced smart voice assistant for voice commands and remote communication. While each platform can operate independently, the full peace of mind of a SmartGuardian installation results when integrated together.

The wall-mounted radar sensors, known as Alerts, operate entirely passively and do not require any device to be worn or any special action from your loved one. In the background, AI constructs a behavioural profile based on your loved one's daily activities and notifies family members of deviations from normal behaviour, such as disrupted sleep patterns caused by anxiety or an increase in bathroom visits resulting from a UTI—both of which are precursors to a higher risk of falling. This proactive approach enables preventive measures to be implemented to mitigate the risk of falls occurring in the first place. In the event of a fall, the system swiftly detects life-threatening falls within seconds, whether from a standing, seated, or bed position. Alerts and calls are promptly dispatched to designated emergency contacts for immediate assistance.

Voice assistants located in each room fulfil two primary functions. Firstly, they enable your loved one to issue voice commands from any location within the home. For instance, saying "Call John" facilitates instant communication with a family member, or in the event of feeling unwell, uttering "Help" triggers alerts to and initiates calls to a group of designated emergency contacts for immediate assistance. Secondly, in the event of a fall being detected, such as in the bathroom, a caregiver can remotely 'drop in' to communicate directly with your loved one from within that room. This capability allows you to assess the severity of the emergency and provide invaluable reassurance while help is on the way.

The voice assistants can control lights, sockets, heating, and alarms. We can program bespoke routines to automate multiple tasks with a single voice command, such as saying "Bedtime." This command could, for example, trigger actions like turning off lights and sockets in the living room, activating dim lighting in the bathroom, and sending a "Good Night" message to family members.
